LaGrange Man Charged With Sexual Abuse to a Minor

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - The Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center worked with the Dutchess County Sheriffs office in the arrest of a LaGrange man on Sept. 24, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office charged Gregorio Barbieri, 59 of LaGrange, with one count of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

The investigation began Sept. 21 when the New York State Central Registry, alleged that Barbieri had sexual contact with a 10-year-old child. A short time later Barbieri was brought in for questioning, and subsequently arrested and charged at the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

Barbieri was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Justice Court and released to the supervision of the Dutchess County Department of Probation and Community Corrections.
